My First Fashion Show Video!

Hi everyone!

After many hours of work, our first fashion show's video is online!

Highlighted Zippers... Under Debate.

We have all seen it, this style of zippers highlighted down the back of clothing. 

When I first saw this I thought "Oh cool!  I can do that and what a fun way to embellish!"  

But as I continued the consider it, a thought came to me, 

"Could this style send a bad message?"  

A really horrible, degrading message of 

"Look how easily my clothes can come off"  

That. Is. Disgusting. 

So, I am asking your opinion: 

Do you consider this highlighted zipper style harmless or provoking?  

And if they do send the wrong message, are only the long zippers the culprits?

 Or are the short ones as well?  

Can it depend on the situation?

For instance, does it make a difference if I wear this style to a school dance or a wedding? 

For me, it depends a lot on the garment, some definitely scream "sexual" while others are just harmless.  Also, I think that it would be more appropriate to have this style on a garment you would wear it to a wedding rather than a school dance.  In addition to that, I think the long highlighted zippers can send more of a bad message than short ones.  

However, I am still on the fence.

I think we also need to ask the thoughts of our fathers as well as our brothers in Christ.

The point of this post is NOT to point fingers, but to discuss then effects of wearing garments with these embellishments.

Wow! Just wow.

I haven't posted in two months, that's a really long time.  

I'll fill you in on what I have been working on...

A Modest Fashion Show!

When I met with my business consultant, she advised me to build a good repitquar to show future investors. Hosting fashion shows are great double dippers because they also advertise your business.

So, I set out on this quest...

First, I had to find models.  After inquiries, time and prayer, God sent me: Amber, Grace, Niabh, Lydia, and Sophia.  These young woman are so much fun to be around!  I could have not asked for better people to work with on my first show!

I met with each girl and helped them find their body and color type.  I wanted their outfit to be designed for them, not just a random selection of clothing.

Second, I needed to design!  I decided that my collection was going to be named Summer Freedom. I also decided that each girl's outfit would represent an aspect of that theme.  Then I made an inspration board for each outfit; this helped me so much during my designing process.`

Third, I sewed, sewed, and sewed!  This took me forever!  Well not really, only a few weeks.  I also scheduled a few fittings with each of the girls to make sure their garments fit and flattered them.

Finally, it was time for the show!  The first one was this evening, and the second is tomorrow at 12:30pm.
